About The Position

The Registered Nurse Specialist will possess specialized knowledge and skills to support care coordination within a multidisciplinary pediatric craniofacial program in an outpatient setting. This role involves providing clinical assessment, patient advocacy, education, and serving as a primary point of contact for patients and families. The position is primarily focused on coordinating and managing care plans between the pediatric population and a multidisciplinary team, and it is explicitly stated as NOT a bedside position, with very limited hands-on care.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current licensure by the State of Florida as a Registered Nurse.
• Proven ability to multitask, problem solve, and be a team player.
• Outstanding patient/customer service skills.
• Verbal clarity.
• Exceptional cognitive abilities.
• Team focus.
• Problem solving skills.
• Basic Life Support certification required or obtained within the first month of employment.
• BLS certification must be obtained through AHA or Red Cross.

Nice To Haves

• One year of specialty experience or two years of ambulatory care or hospital-based experience.
• Certification in area of specialty.

Responsibilities

• Possess specialized knowledge and skills to support care coordination within a multidisciplinary pediatric craniofacial program in an outpatient setting.
• Provide clinical assessment, patient advocacy, education, and serve as a primary point of contact for patients and families.
• Coordinate care plans, referrals, and longitudinal follow-up across multiple specialties to ensure continuity of care.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and ancillary services to support efficient, team-based care.
• Support feeding and nutrition needs of the craniofacial population, including infant feeding support, with training provided.
• Assist with clinical workflows, patient tracking, and follow-up to ensure adherence to care plans.
