RN SHORT STAY SURGERY FULL TIME DAYS
About The Position
The Pre-Op / Phase II Recovery / PAT Registered Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing surgical, endoscopic, interventional, and diagnostic procedures. This role is responsible for preparing patients for procedures in the Pre-Op setting, recovering appropriate patients in Phase II following anesthesia or procedural sedation, and supporting Pre-Admission Testing activities when needed to ensure patient readiness and efficient patient flow. The RN functions as part of a multidisciplinary perioperative team and supports safe, timely, and patient-centered care across the continuum.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
- Minimum of 1-3 years of acute care nursing experience required
- Experience in Pre-Op, PACU, Same-Day Surgery required
- Strong assessment and critical-thinking skills
- Ability to prioritize care in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and patient education skills
- Competency in IV therapy and medication administration
- Knowledge of post-anesthesia and post-sedation recovery principles
- Ability to adapt to changing clinical and operational needs
- Professional, calm, and patient-focused demeanor
- Current, unrestricted Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
