Highlights: Summary: The RN - Shift Supervisor shall be responsible to assist the Director or Manager through supervising the daily department activities. This individual will assist to facilitate, coordinate, and evaluate unit activities for the provision of quality patient care. The RN shall serve as a mentor and team lead for the staff. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Nursing and four (4) years of Staff Nurse experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Active RN license required
  • BLS requried
  • Knowledge of Trauma/ED standards of care practices and procedures, for the ED Shift supervisor.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to show initiative and leadership in patient care.
  • Ability to effectively communicate to patients, guest, and coworkers.
  • Ability to coordinate the activities of those persons supervised.
  • Position requires sitting for 20% of the workday and mobility 80% of the workday. There is occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching. There is frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action. Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 150 pounds. There is a continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person. Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range. Inside protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Minimal noise levels. Much exposure to computer work. Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock. Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks. Some exposure to hazardous chemicals. Occasional exposure to radiation.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and two (2) years of Staff Nurse experience in the department is preferred.
  • Additional certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, etc) may be required depending upon area assigned.
