About The Position

The Shift Manager (Registered Nurse) is responsible and accountable for the delivery of skilled, high quality patient care. This role involves assisting in planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating nursing practice in accordance with the Mission of Doctors Hospital of Manteca. The Shift Manager demonstrates a high degree of critical thinking, technical skill, initiative, integrity, accuracy, and compassionate nursing care in an interdisciplinary practice. They assist the Chief Nursing Officer in providing direction in the development and evaluation of personnel and in maintaining operations of the Wound Center. The role involves prescribing, delegating, and coordinating nursing care, acting as a resource for clinical issues involving the plan of care. The Shift Manager contributes to nursing and hospital mission through support of philosophy and objectives, educational efforts, and research efforts. They perform as a peer role model for professional behavior and demonstrate superior expertise in the delivery of nursing care and oversight of all functions of the department during their assigned shift. Other duties as required will also be performed.

Requirements

  • Active California R.N. license
  • Healthcare Provider BLS
  • Able to provide safe, proficient nursing care for all patient populations, including pediatric, medical, surgical, correctional, and geriatric.
  • Analytical and grammatical skills are necessary to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Must be fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.

Nice To Haves

  • National Certification required for Shift Manager III and IV.
  • Shift Manger II can have either BSN or National Certification.
