About The Position

Overview of Unit Branson Stepdown/Progressive Care Unit is similar to a cardiac/neuro tele floor, caring for patients with a higher level of acuity than those on med/surg floors. Nurse to patient ratio is 1:4-5 We use a tiered level of acuity: Gray rooms: These are designated for the more acutely ill patients. Nurses care for patients requiring BiPAP initiation, Optiflow, cardiac gtts, and insulin gtts. White rooms: These include patients with stroke, STEMI/NSTEMI, cardiac, respiratory, renal conditions, and ETOH patients on telemetry.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program
• RN license active in the state of Missouri
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrate effective leadership abilities
• Exhibits valuable time management skills
• Strong critical thinking/problem solving skills
• Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
• Previous nursing experience

Responsibilities

• Assess patient health problems and needs
• Develop and implement nursing care plans
• Maintain medical records
• Administer nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled patients
