About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN)-Per Diem performs pre and post-anesthesia nursing assessment and recovery for patients post-operation in the scope of RN practice. Is available to assist anesthesiologists with procedures as requested and to intervene in medical emergencies throughout the School of Dentistry. Performs other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing required.
  • Minimum two years of clinical experience in area of specialty required.
  • Able to use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position.
  • Able to troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment.
  • Able to perform technical patient care activities.
  • Able to relate to and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others.
  • Able to be assertive and consistent in following and/or enforcing policies.
  • Able to work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure.

  • Able to see adequately to read computer screens, medical records, and written documents necessary to position.
  • Able to discern temperature variances through touch.
  • California Registered Nurse license required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS), Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association required or obtained within 30 days of hire.
