RN/RNFA - Operating Room - Day/Evening/On call
About The Position
This role is for a Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) in the Operating Room. The position involves 36 hours per week, with on-call duties for nights and weekends. The objective is to collaborate with the surgeon and healthcare team to ensure safe operations and optimal patient outcomes. The nurse will practice perioperative nursing, possessing the specific knowledge, skills, and judgment required for clinical practice. They will work in collaboration with and at the direction of the surgeon during the operative phase. When not serving as an RNFA, the nurse will perform duties of an OR staff RN.
Requirements
- NYS license as a Registered Professional Nurse
- Completion of an accredited RN First Assistant course
- Proficient in perioperative nursing practice, both as a scrub nurse and a circulating nurse – minimum of two (2) years diversified operating room experience.
- Eligible/current CNOR.
- Demonstrates the CARES Values at all times.
Responsibilities
- Practices perioperative nursing and must have acquired the necessary knowledge, skill & judgment specific to clinical practice
- Practices in collaboration with and at the direction of the surgeon in the operative phase of the perioperative experience.
- Performs duties of OR staff RN when not requested to serve as RNFA.
