About The Position

The Resource Center is comprised of Nurses, Nurse Technicians, and Unit Secretaries who support the unit of greatest need daily at both Butterworth and Blodgett Hospitals. Team members in this department care for various patient populations, gaining experience by supporting a different unit each day. The patients, families, and team members greatly value the help and expertise provided by the Resource Center team. Butterworth Hospital, located in Grand Rapids, is a nationally recognized hospital for patient quality and safety and the regional leader in full-service hospitals. Since 1873, it has built a reputation of excellence in care, diagnostics, treatment, prevention, and education, serving as the flagship hospital for Corewell Health Grand Rapids Hospitals. Blodgett Hospital, set within a beautifully maintained property, has a history of providing high-quality, compassionate, and personalized medical care since 1846. It has earned a reputation for excellence as a community and teaching hospital, offering patient-focused inpatient care in 248 private rooms and outpatient services, achieving high patient satisfaction rates.

Requirements

  • Associate degree Nursing Required
  • Bachelor’s in Nursing Required within 5 years
  • Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program Required
  • Registered Nurse (RN) State of Michigan Upon Hire Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) All unless otherwise noted 90 Days Required
  • 2 years of inpatient RN experience Required.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan.
  • Demonstrates competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA, including ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.
  • Strives to achieve optimal outcomes.
