About The Position

This position is for an RN Resident who will work under the direct supervision of an RN. The resident will collect patient data, assist with procedures, review orders, provide patient treatments, document care, observe patients, administer medications as allowed, maintain supplies, float to various units as needed, and participate in performance improvement activities. This role is specific to Wisconsin.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (unlicensed and temporaries not granted) and/or failed licensing examination after employment in the Mercyhealth organization.
Approved CPR or BLS certification required within 90 days.
Licensed as RN in state of practice within 90 days. Extensions must be approved by HR and leader.
Basic computer skills are beneficial.

Other certifications per unit requirements: ACLS, PALS, PEARS, NRP.

Responsibilities

Collects patient data and documents in the medical record within scope.
Assists physician/RN with procedures as needed.
Reviews physician's orders, lab requests, or follow-up needs with patient.
Provides patient treatments as ordered within scope.
Documents care provided in the medical record.
Observes patients and reports adverse reactions to medication or treatment to the RN.
Administers specified medications as allowed by policy and procedure and State Practice Act.
Maintains supplies, including scanning, stocking and ordering new supplies and disposing of expired or damaged supplies.
Floats to various units based on identified need.
Participates in department and unit performance improvement activities.
