RN Resident, Med-Surg (Full-Time, Night Shift)
About The Position
Adventist Health Hanford, located in Kings County, has been serving the Central Valley since 1965. It is a 173-bed hospital with numerous outpatient clinics offering primary and specialty care. The hospital is situated in a community with a historic charm and family-friendly atmosphere, and is within an hour's drive of Yosemite, Sequoia, and Kings Canyon National Parks. This role involves delivering coordinated nursing care for assigned patients according to established standards and the nursing process. The position requires supervising and directing nursing staff, coordinating care with other disciplines, and utilizing critical thinking, professional discretion, and independent judgment.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice: Required
- AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS: Required
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN): Preferred
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Preferred
Responsibilities
- Collects relevant data pertinent to the patient’s health or situation.
- Analyzes the assessment data in determining diagnosis and care issues.
- Develops a plan that prescribes interventions to attain outcomes.
- Implements the plan, coordinates care delivery, and employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
- Evaluates progress toward attaining outcomes.
- Identifies outcomes for the patient or the patient’s situation.
- Collaborates with the team of patient, family, and healthcare providers in providing patient care in a safe, healing, humane, and caring environment.
- Provides learning opportunities for patients/family members and team members; and directly provides health information to patients, families, and treatment team.
- Participates in discharge planning in order to provide continuity of care.
- Delegates appropriately and coordinates duties of healthcare team members.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
