This role focuses on the application of the nursing process in patient care, emphasizing accurate and up-to-date record-keeping, comprehensive patient assessments (physical, psychological, social), and effective discharge planning. The position also involves understanding and demonstrating proficiency in the charge nurse role, utilizing Computerized Nursing Informatics, and serving as a resource for patient care, staff orientation, and teaching. Participation in unit staff meetings, mandatory programs, and Patient Care Assessment Committee (PCAC) activities is expected, along with contributing to the identification and evaluation of care quality indicators. Adherence to safety and blood/body fluid policies, along with continuous professional development and staying current with relevant techniques and regulations, is crucial. The role also encourages participation in Nursing Committees and maintaining confidentiality and a positive representation of the hospital in the community and internally. Performs other work-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
