About The Position

This role involves practicing according to entity and department mandatory requirements, with a customer service approach. The Registered Nurse (RN) will care for patients utilizing the nursing process as part of an interdisciplinary team, using internal and external resources effectively. Key responsibilities include providing patient/family teaching, accurate documentation, safe medication administration, and adhering to best practice standards of care. The RN will identify and report signs of neglect/abuse, care for terminally ill patients and families, manage patient pain, and utilize restraints as per policy. Effective time management, respect for advance directives, and maintaining appropriate licenses and certifications are essential. The role requires addressing age-specific needs of adolescents, adults, and geriatric adults, performing skills safely, and managing various patient conditions including chest drainage devices, intravenous therapy, epidural analgesia, cardiac medications, telemetry monitoring, and post-operative and orthopedic patients. The RN will also use the Electronic Medical Record appropriately and respond to emergency situations. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor are expected.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
  • Basic Life Support Certification required
  • Successful passage of CCHC’s Pharmacology exam
  • Must read, write and communicate in English

  • Manages patients with Intravenous Therapy.

  • Manages patients receiving epidural analgesia.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skill in administration and assessment of patient response to cardiac medications.
  • Manages patients on telemetry monitoring.
  • Responds appropriately in emergency/urgent situations.
  • Provides care to post-operative patients.
  • Cares for patients with orthopedic diagnoses.
  • Performs other work-related duties and activities as assigned or requested his/her immediate supervisor.
