It is a peaceful, scenic, community-oriented area with an abundance of amenities to suit every taste. The RN Resident will complete thirteen to twenty-one (13-21) weeks, based on specialty, of residency training, during which employee will be assigned to a designated unit. Training under the program will include the following nursing and hospital orientations and educational elements: Weeks 1- 3: Basic Nursing Orientation, EPIC computer orientation, Basic ECG, Soft ID Specimen Collection, Form Fast and Self-scheduling training, and unit orientation. Weeks 4-9: Continued orientation to unit standards, procedures, protocols and nursing policy with Preceptor oversight. A gradual increase of patient load assignments during the twelve (12) hour shifts Weeks 11-10: Continued orientation to unit standards, procedures, protocols and nursing policy with support from Preceptor. A gradual increase of patient load assignments during twelve (12) hour shifts. Weeks 12 – 21: Full patient assignments with support from Preceptor, validation of completion of all Program expectations by the end of Week 14, and Preceptor evaluation of RN Resident.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing, preferably a BSN program.
  • Eligible for, and/or passed, the NCLEX to obtain permanent R.N. licensure prior to residency training start date.
  • Current BLS from the American Heart Association.
  • No more than 6 months of experience in an acute hospital setting as a Registered Nurse.
  • Commit to full-time employment during the entire program schedule.
  • Able to work 12 hour shifts rotating nights, days, weekends and/or holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Complete thirteen to twenty-one (13-21) weeks of residency training, based on specialty.
  • Be assigned to a designated unit.
  • Participate in Basic Nursing Orientation, EPIC computer orientation, Basic ECG, Soft ID Specimen Collection, Form Fast and Self-scheduling training.
  • Undergo continued orientation to unit standards, procedures, protocols and nursing policy with Preceptor oversight.
  • Gradually increase patient load assignments during twelve (12) hour shifts.
  • Receive full patient assignments with support from Preceptor.
  • Validate completion of all Program expectations by the end of Week 14.
  • Participate in Preceptor evaluation of RN Resident.
