About The Position

We are accepting applications for our July 27, 2026 RN Residency Program. This program is designed for both new graduate nurses and nurses with limited or no acute care experience, offering a structured and supportive environment. The application period will be open through midnight May 3, 2026. The initial phase of the application process is to assess candidates' minimum qualifications and their likelihood of retention at Cottage Health. Successful candidates will then proceed to the second phase for departmental matches. Specific unit preferences are not required at this initial stage. Potential units considering applications include: Adult Inpatient Departments (Neurology/Urology, Oncology, Orthopedics, Pulmonary/Renal, Telemetry, Trauma), Nursing Resource Unit (NRU - floating to the listed units), Cottage Rehabilitation Hospital, Emergency and Psychiatric Services, SBCH Emergency Department, Women's & Children's Services (Birth Center, Pediatrics, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit), and Surgical Services (SBCH Surgery).

Requirements

  • AHA BLS required.
  • Active CA RN license one week prior to the program start date (July 20, 2026). Interim permits are not accepted.
  • Include RN License status / ATT / BRN Paperwork with anticipated timeframes on your resume.
  • List nursing school as the first educational institution in the application, regardless of chronological order of degrees.
  • New graduate nurses or nurses with limited or no acute care experience.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a structured, supportive RN Residency Program.
  • Complete required training and departmental matches.
  • Float to various units if assigned to the Nursing Resource Unit (NRU).
