About The Position

St. Mary’s Healthcare is seeking talented and motivated newly licensed Registered Nurses to join our comprehensive Nurse Residency Program. This structured transition-to-practice program bridges the gap between academic preparation and independent clinical practice through evidence-based curriculum, specialized clinical experiences, and dedicated mentorship. Our fellowship program offers six distinct specialty tracks designed to develop clinical expertise, foster professional growth, and prepare nurse residents for successful careers in their chosen specialty area. Residents will benefit from a supportive learning environment, structured orientation, ongoing education, and guidance from experienced preceptors, nursing education, and leadership. Each track will have defined milestones and competencies that are completed by skill verification. The total time of the nurse residency will vary dependent upon chosen specialty with a goal of 12-18 months’ time of competition. Nurse residents will apply for one of the following specialty tracks based on their career interests and goals: Emergency Department (ED), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Behavioral Health, Inpatient Medical-Surgical, Labor and Delivery, Perioperative Surgical Services - PACU Focus, and Perioperative Surgical Services - OR Focus.
