About The Position

Northeast Georgia Health System is dedicated to improving community health. The Neuro/Medical unit is a 36-bed Neuro medical and Intermediate Care nursing unit. This mixed Neuro unit provides care to a variety of intermediate care and standard acute neuro patients. This includes individuals with lower to high acuity ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, patients post 25-hour thrombolytic treatment, those requiring continuous EEG monitoring, and patients with neurological disorders such as Guillain-Barre’ Syndrome, Myasthenia Gravis, and ALS. The unit also manages patients with hemodynamic instability needing antiarrhythmic treatment, chest tube care, epidural/PCA management, and tracheostomy care.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice as an RN in Georgia.
  • Associate's Degree, ADN or Diploma required.
  • At least 1 year of RN experience.
  • Demonstrated competence in RN I performance expectations or meets experience requirements upon hire.
  • Delivery of safe, effective, efficient care that meets population specific guidelines.
  • Actively work to make own and related teams successful, effectively communicate with patients, families and colleagues at all levels, show consideration and respect for others and foster customer service.
  • Effectively prioritize, recognize problems, and utilize evidence based practice.
  • Demonstrate personal mastery, leadership of self and others, as appropriate, delegate appropriately, and support NGHS shared governance model.
  • Basic computer skills necessary to operate computer systems used on unit.
