RN - Progressive Care Unit
About The Position
Join Cleveland Clinic’s Martin South Hospital, a 100-bed hospital serving communities in and around Martin County. The hospital offers advanced research and surgery, leading-edge technology, and world-class patient care in a family-oriented, supportive environment. The Progressive Care Unit cares for patients who require a higher level of monitoring, including telemetry, and who have typically stepped down from the ICU. The RN delivers intermediate-level care to acutely ill patients, monitors their conditions, provides specialized treatments and emotional support, and helps patients recover from illness or injury while building strong connections with patients and families. The caregiver in this position works nights from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN, or BSN program).
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or ALS certification through the American Red Cross.
- One year of current acute care RN experience or licensed military RN experience.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care.
- Implement, monitor, evaluate, update, and revise patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, document, and communicate patients’ conditions.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
- Educate patients and their families.
