About The Position

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Evidence of continuing education.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in basic nursing process.
  • AHA ACLS and BLS certification required.
  • Telemetry experience required.
  • Current RN License, Massachusetts

Nice To Haves

  • PCU/Step Down experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers expert, evidence-based nursing care to patients and families.
  • Implements the nursing process by assessing patient and family needs and analyzing assessment data to develop and support clinically accurate diagnoses.
  • Plans care by establishing goals with measurable outcomes.
  • Implements the plan of care and evaluates the patient’s response.
  • Documents care according to the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Plymouth policy and to regulatory agency requirements.
  • Administers medications, and performs procedures safely and efficiently according to policy.
  • Administers blood and blood products according to policy.
  • Evaluates educational and psychosocial needs of the patient and family and incorporates needs into the plan of care.
  • Manages the environment of care.
  • Recognizes and responds to emergency situations appropriately.
  • Maintains ACLS and BLS certification.
  • Identifies appropriate community resources to promote continuity of care, and make appropriate referrals.
  • Works collaboratively and functions as an effective member of the health care team.
  • Conducts bedside shift report, with fellow nursing staff and hourly rounding.
