RN, Professional Development Nurse (Nurse Educator) | Urgent Care
About The Position
Emplify Health by Gundersen is seeking a RN, Professional Development Nurse (Nurse Educator) to support the Onalaska, Sparta and Winona Urgent Cares. This is an opportunity to work in a highly adaptable and mission-driven organization while doing the work you love in the beautiful Coulee region. The role involves leading nursing orientation, education, competency, and professional development for RNs and EMTs in the Urgent Care setting. It also includes evaluating nursing practice, assessing practice gaps, identifying learning needs, and participating in process improvement projects and initiatives at both the area and system levels. The position is a 1.0 FTE, salaried role and involves working closely with various teams including the Emergency Services Leadership Team and a large group of Professional Development Nurses.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required
- Master’s degree in Nursing required within 5 years
- 2-3 years RN experience in Emergency Services or Urgent Care required
- RN licensure to practice in the state of Wisconsin and Minnesota upon hire
- Basic Life Support CPR for Health Care Providers and ACLS
Responsibilities
- Lead nursing orientation, education, competency, and professional development for RNs and EMTs in the Urgent Care setting
- Evaluate nursing practice, assess practice gaps, identify learning needs
- Participate in process improvement projects and initiatives both within area of responsibility and at the system level
- Responsible for system projects and programs
- Work closely with several great teams: Emergency Services Leadership Team (Clinical Operations Director, Managers, Clinical Nurse Leaders, Professional Development Nurse, Quality Nurse, and an Informatics Nurse)
