About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Psychiatric Research Institute (PRI) consistently provides effective direct care to a variety of patients, will work as part of the interdisciplinary team, based on licensure, title and competencies. The RN seeks, as well as provides, feedback for improved clinical practice. The RN integrates theory and research into clinical practice. The RN provides leadership to members of the nursing team in order to maintain patient care standards. The RN works under the direct supervision of the Clinical Services Manager (CSM). Promotion is based on years of experience, satisfactory performance appraisals and recommendation by manager. Employee must successfully complete a UAMS-sponsored conflict management training to identify, prevent, and mitigate disruptive behaviors using methods such as non-escalation, de-escalation, personal protection from physical assaults, and physical alternatives within six months of hire. PRI Inpatient Units include the General Adult Inpatient Unit, the Women’s Unit, the Child Diagnostic Unit, and the Interventional Hospital-Based Clinic.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program with an Associate's Degree in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, or Master's Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum 1 year of Registered Nurse experience
  • Current and valid Registered Nurse license in the State of Arkansas
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong work ethic and accountability
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.
  • Must successfully complete a UAMS-sponsored conflict management training within six months of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 or more years of Registered Nurse experience
  • Current BLS
