RN PreOp PACU
About The Position
USPI Pearland Surgery Center is seeking a motivated PreOp/PACU RN to join their team. The center has 2 main OR rooms and 2 endoscopy rooms and performs outpatient surgical procedures in Orthopedic, ENT, Urology, Colorectal, General, Plastic, Pain Management, Podiatry, and GI Endoscopy. The candidate will be available Monday-Friday and one Saturday a month based on staff rotation. The schedule is subject to change based on the surgical schedule and flow of the day. The candidate needs to be available for some early mornings and later evenings. This position requires weekdays only and one Saturday a month based on a staff rotation, with no holidays or call. Some later evenings are required.
Requirements
- Must be a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Availability for weekdays, including some early mornings and later evenings.
- Availability for one Saturday a month based on staff rotation.
Responsibilities
- Plan, direct, organize, coordinate, and implement all nursing care services for pre-op and post-surgical patients in a manner consistent with the mission statement.
- Participate in the development of the patient plan of care to include patient problems, goals, evaluations, and interventions.
- Monitor heart rate, blood pressure, breathing, and respiration.
- Manage pain and nausea that often follow anesthesia.
- Serve on committees and participate in quality improvement audits and projects as designated by the Clinical Director.
