About The Position

MU Health Care is seeking a Nurse Practice Manager to lead Infusion Services at both Ellis Fischel Cancer Center and Keene Street Medical Center. This role involves overseeing the delivery of complex infusion therapies and exceptional care for patients undergoing oncology and specialty treatments, while also driving operational excellence across both locations. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative, patient-centered leader skilled in building high-performing teams, developing staff, and promoting a culture of safety, innovation, accountability, and service excellence. Responsibilities include guiding clinical and operational performance, optimizing patient access and flow, managing staffing and resources, and championing continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance the patient experience. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.
  • Five (5) years of related experience.
  • One (1) year of supervisory experience.
  • Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN. When the primary state of residency changes, compact state RNs must apply under the new state of residency within thirty (30) days.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in business or healthcare administration.
  • Experience in infusion services strongly preferred.
  • Experience in a medical practice or ambulatory care experience.
  • Experience with finance, budgets and process improvement strongly preferred.
  • Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.

Responsibilities

  • Creates a high-performing team by interviewing, selecting, training, evaluating, coaching, counseling, disciplining, and leading staff within assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Assists with the development, administration, and achievement of the budget and financial targets of the assigned clinic(s). Identifies and supports opportunities to grow clinics and services as they arise.
  • Achieves and maintains high patient satisfaction by fostering a culture of YES, investigating and responding to patient concerns, and following up on satisfaction survey results.
  • Achieves and maintains high staff engagement by leading, developing, and supporting a high-performing team and identifying opportunities for staff growth.
  • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to identify and implement improvements to processes, workflows, systems, and services within assigned areas.
  • Communicates consistently with staff to ensure all are informed of goals, expectations, policy and procedure changes, and relevant organizational activities. Ensures timely delivery of patient services through enhancements in patient access and flow.
  • Establishes, maintains, and monitors staffing levels, productivity, and throughput. Confers with dyad partners, assigned supervisors, departmental leadership, and practice physicians to resolve operational issues and promote excellence in care delivery.
  • Coordinates and directs the development of procedures for assigned areas that align with established MU Health Care policies.
  • Develops and produces monthly practice activity reports related to clinical, financial, and operational performance. Represents the assigned area as requested by leadership.
  • Leads a culture of safety through proactive risk mitigation and continuous quality improvement, taking measures to evaluate regulatory readiness routinely. Monitors and analyzes safety and performance metrics to identify trends and implement corrective actions for staff and/or patients as appropriate.
  • Develops, coordinates, and maintains daily staffing schedules to ensure the appropriate level of unit coverage and continuity of care. Monitors time and attendance in alignment with MU Health Care policies and practices, ensuring accuracy of records and timely submittal/approval for payroll purposes.
  • May complete unit/department-specific duties as outlined in department documents.
