About The Position

This is a Pediatric Critical Care Registered Nurse position requiring previous experience in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). The role involves floating to NICU or other units within the nurse's skill set as needed. Orientation will be provided. The position requires working every other weekend. Previous charge experience is preferred, and first-time travelers with experience are accepted. For Aya offers, up to 3 days of PTO will be accepted; anything more will result in a screen. Perm staff self-schedule first, and travelers are expected to meet unit needs.

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience.
  • Previous Charge Experience Preferred.

  • Weekends - Every Other Weekend Required.
  • BLS Certification.
  • PALS Certification.
  • Experience with Critical Care.

  • Experience with Post-Op/Pre-Op.
  • Experience with Breathing Treatments.
  • Experience with Chest Tube Set-up/Care.
  • Experience with CPAP/BiPap.
  • Experience with High Frequency Vents.
  • Experience with Oscillators.
  • Experience with Procedure Sedation.
  • Experience with RSI - Rapid Sequence Intubation Drugs.
  • Experience with Trach Care.
  • Experience with Vents.
  • Experience with Blood/Blood Products Administration.
  • Experience with CVP.
  • Experience obtaining 12 Lead EKG.
  • Experience with Drains.
  • Experience with Epidural Pumps.
  • Experience with PCA Pumps.
  • Experience with PICC/Central Lines.
  • Experience with Port-A-Cath/Vascular Device Access/Care.
  • Experience with Syringe Pumps.
  • Experience with Traction/Halo/Pin Care.
  • Experience with Triple Lumen Catheter.
  • Experience with Wound Vac.

Nice To Haves

  • NRP Certification.
  • CRRT Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Provide care in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
  • Float to NICU or other units within skill set as required.
  • Administer breathing treatments.
  • Manage chest tube set-up and care.
  • Operate and manage CPAP/BiPap, High Frequency Vents, and Oscillators.
  • Perform procedure sedation and Rapid Sequence Intubation (RSI).
  • Provide trach care.
  • Administer blood and blood products.
  • Obtain 12-lead EKGs.
  • Manage drains, epidural pumps, PCA pumps, and syringe pumps.
  • Provide care for PICC/Central Lines, Port-A-Cath/Vascular Device Access/Care, and Triple Lumen Catheters.
  • Provide traction/halo/pin care.
  • Manage Wound Vacs.
  • Administer RSI drugs.
