About The Position

Our patients are our number one priority! We're committed to giving children back their childhood! This role focuses on managing, delegating, and coordinating quality nursing care within a Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation setting. The position involves assisting in maintaining a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment, developing effective working relationships with colleagues and leadership, and demonstrating professional accountability through continuous education and maintaining licensure. The nurse will deliver family-centered, child-focused patient care using critical thinking and evidence-based practice, potentially serving as a preceptor, charge nurse, or competency validator. Participation in departmental or hospital-wide committees is also expected, along with adherence to all departmental and hospital policies and values.

Requirements

  • Associate degree (ADN) in Nursing required
  • Current Texas RN license or eligible for a temporary permit from the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners
  • 2 years RN experience required
  • American Heart Association BLS
  • Competent in Windows OS and the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Pediatric experience preferred
  • PALS certification, or obtained within 6 months of hire
  • EPIC experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage, delegate, and coordinate quality nursing care
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment
  • Develop and maintain an effective working relationship with peers, departmental leadership, and the interdisciplinary team
  • Demonstrate accountability for professional practice by participating in educational activities, maintaining clinical competency, maintaining licensure and certifications, and completing mandatory education in a timely manner
  • Deliver family centered, child-focused patient care according to the nursing process
  • Utilize critical thinking and evidence-based nursing practice to provide patient care
  • Serve as a preceptor, charge nurse, or competency validator
  • Participate in at least one departmental and/or hospital wide committee or task force
  • Follows all departmental and hospitalwide policies
  • Demonstrate the Scottish Rite CARE RITE values
