RN - Perinatal Nurse - OB - PT Days
About The Position
Under the leadership of the Unit Manager, Clinical Coordinator, and/or Charge Nurse (Nurse assigned to Labor and Delivery), the RN - Perinatal Nurse - OB is responsible and accountable for planning, directing, assessing and providing nursing care according to the mission, philosophy, policy and procedures of Barstow Community Hospital. This position requires demonstrating and communicating exceptional knowledge and skill through a high sense of responsibility for one's practice. Key dimensions include quality of care, professional commitment, teamwork, interpersonal skills, safety, good public/customer relations, and fundamental nursing knowledge. The nurse must be able to follow directions and perform work according to department standards, even when no directions are given. The role also requires emotional maturity and the ability to function effectively under stress.
Requirements
- State of California RN license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) prior to working.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Basic Fetal Monitoring required within (90) days.
- Must have Basic Fetal Monitoring and update every two years.
- Must complete required departmental competencies within ninety (90) days of start date and than continuously on an annual basis.
