About The Position

EvergreenHealth is seeking an experienced Progressive Care Unit RN to join a well-established dynamic team on the 31-bed Progressive Care Unit. This role is for INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY. The position is responsible for the total direct nursing care of all patients within established standards of care, hospital and unit policies, procedures, and guidelines. Telemetry and intermediate step down, PCU nursing experience is required. EvergreenHealth is pleased to offer our PER DIEM RN’s option and choice when it comes to their work assignment, creating a tiered system for flexibility and balance. Tier 1 Per Diem RNs are available to work at least 24 hours per month and receive a 17% hourly premium. Tier 2 Per Diem RNs are available to work 60 hours per month, including one weekend shift, one summer holiday, and one winter holiday, and receive a 20% hourly premium. Additional pay is offered for BSN/MSN and CCRN certifications. Posted wage ranges represent the entire range from minimum to maximum. For jobs with more than one level, the posted range reflects the minimum of the lowest level and the maximum of the highest level. Some positions also offer additional premiums based on shift, certifications, or degrees. Job offers are determined based on a candidate's years of relevant experience, level of education and internal equity.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a nursing program (Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required)
  • Minimum of one-year recent RN experience in Progressive Care nursing.
  • Current Washington State Registered Nurse License
  • Current Healthcare Provider BLS- American Heart Association by start date.
  • Current Healthcare Provider ACLS- American Heart Association by start date.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
  • PCCN certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct patient care and functions as a patient advocate.
  • Assesses the comprehensive nursing needs of an assigned group of patients.
  • Coordinates the patient and family/significant other education process.
  • Continuously plans, implements, and evaluates patient care, incorporating patient and family/significant other into the process.
  • Participates with physician partners and other interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient and family/significant other plan of care.
  • Effectively communicates all relevant information (e.g., patient information, safety issues, problems with equipment, quality issues, etc.) to immediate supervisor, in timely way.
  • Communicates and documents changes in patient condition, on a timely basis, to charge nurse/supervisor and physician.
