About The Position

Valley Children's Willson Heart Center delivers top-tier pediatric cardiac care in Central California within a family-centered setting. Our pediatric cardiologists employ advanced technology for heart disease and defects, covering congenital and acquired cardiovascular conditions. The Cardiothoracic Surgery Program, staffed by surgeons from Stanford University School of Medicine, is part of one of North America's largest pediatric cardiothoracic surgical heart programs. Comprehensive cardiovascular care at The Willson Heart Center encompasses congenital heart disease and various defects. Our pediatric cardiology team tailors personalized treatment plans for a wide range of heart conditions, from common to rare and complex cases. The professional team ensures continuous care throughout a child's journey. Collaborating with pediatric cardiologists, we provide board-certified, fellowship-trained clinical expertise and support staff for compassionate, expert care in various pediatric specialties. This position is accountable for providing competent nursing care for patients with common health problems, and is expected to deliver competent patient care to a full patient assignment. This position practices under the direction of the designated nurse executive, within the scope of the Nursing Practice Act, and in accordance with Children's policies.

Requirements

  • Accredited nursing program (required)
  • RN - Registered Nurse License - CA-BRN - California Board of Registered Nursing (required)
  • BLS - Basic Life Support - AHA - American Heart Association For Labor Pool - Any standard BLS (Heart Code not required) within 30 days of hire or transfer into position (required)
  • Minimum six (6) months (required)
  • Mastery of RN I performance standards and accompanying competencies (required)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors Degree Nursing (preferred)
  • Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider Program within 12 months of hire or transfer.

Responsibilities
