The 25-bed M43/M53 Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) provides comprehensive, high-acuity care for pediatric patients requiring medical/surgical treatment, transplant-related care, congenital heart services, and chemotherapy. These units care for children of all ages, delivering specialized, family-centered critical care in a supportive and collaborative environment. As a Registered Nurse on this team, you will partner with fellow caregivers to provide exceptional, compassionate care from admission through discharge. Nurses in this role engage directly with patients, families, and visitors, helping to ensure they feel supported, informed, and secure throughout the course of treatment. M43 and M53 function as closely integrated units and may float between each other as operational needs require, supporting flexibility and continuity of care across the PICU.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • One year of current Acute Care RN experience OR military RN experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) Certification must be presented upon hire or within first year of employment

  • Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Pediatric ICU experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
  • Educate patients and their families.
