About The Position

Sanford Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide one-on-one, person-centered care for pediatric clients in the Fargo-Moorhead community. This PRN position involves working in a home health setting, offering the unique opportunity to build meaningful relationships and deliver focused care tailored to a single client’s needs. The role requires flexibility, with coverage needed for a leave from September through December (several days per week), transitioning to 1-2 days a week in January. Work will be on weekday day shifts only, with 10-hour shifts. Home care nurses enjoy the time and freedom to focus on a single client's needs, administering medical treatments, vent cares, suctioning, G-Tube cares, exercise programs, and providing personal cares.

Requirements

  • Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program preferred, including, but not limited to, Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA).
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of professional nursing experience preferred.
  • Depending on location, a valid drivers license may be required.
  • Certificate for Outcome and Assessment Information Set (OASIS) Specialist - Clinical (COS-C) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Administering physician-ordered treatments and medications
  • Providing respiratory support, including ventilator care and suctioning
  • G-tube feeding and care
  • Assisting with personal care and daily living activities
  • Supporting individualized therapy and exercise programs
  • Taking clients to school
  • Utilizing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation and evaluation) to provide professional nursing services to patients/residents at home.
  • Documenting human responses to actual or potential health problems in the home health environment.
  • Collaborating with patient/resident and family, and other inter-professional colleagues, such as physicians, to plan, implement and evaluate care.
  • Caring for patients/residents in all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.
  • Implementing the nursing process, coordination and continuum of care, patient/resident assessment, patient/resident education, triage, and various other nursing interventions.
  • Functioning within the scopes and standards of nursing practice as outlined in the Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules in the state of practice and licensure.
