About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is responsible for providing intermediate care to patients, including those downgraded from CVICU. The RN supports the thoracic program, EP, cath lab, and structural heart patients, while managing cardiac and vascular-related diagnoses.
Requirements
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
- Minimum of 1 year experience with the specified patient population.
- Pass a skills exam during orientation with a 90% score.
- No full-time, part-time, or PRN position with any facility associated with CommonSpirit within a 50-mile radius.
Responsibilities
- Provide care to patients requiring intermediate care and downgraded CVICU patients.
- Support the thoracic program, EP, cath lab, and structural heart.
- Titrate drips such as Amio, nitro, nicardipine, and others for blood pressure management.
- Interpret and read telemonitor strips.
