About The Position

Our Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) features a total of 15 cubicles, accommodating patients in both Phase 1 and Phase 2 recovery. Nurses are expected to be familiar with Phase 2 recovery processes. Patients recovering in the PACU may include those who have undergone procedures in the ICU, with both PACU nurses collaborating to manage recovery if needed. This position is located in a dynamic acute care setting in the city of [City], [State].

Requirements

BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
Minimum of 2 years of recovery or ICU experience.
Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips.
Ability to understand ABGs.
Ability to work with ventilators and ICP monitors.

Nice To Haves

CPAN or CCRN preferred.
First-time travelers are welcomed.

Responsibilities

Manage patients in Phase 1 and Phase 2 recovery.
Interpret telemetry strips.
Understand ABGs.
Work with ventilators and ICP monitors.
Collaborate with PACU nurses to manage recovery for patients from ICU procedures.
Perform charting using Cerner and Surginet systems.
Work rotational weekends and holidays.
Be on-call as required.
Provide 3 shifts of orientation, including training on Surginet charting and critical patient care processes, including recovering 2 patients simultaneously.
