About The Position
The RN is responsible for providing direct patient care within all scope of practice within surgical services. The RN will function as a primary care giver and must be able to function in all three areas: Pre-op, OR/Circulator, and PACU. The facility has 3/OR Suites with 3/PACU & Pre-op area, 1/anesthesia provider. Surgical cases include General, OB/GYN, Ophth (cataract surgery) & Orthopedics surgeries once to twice a month.
Requirements
- RN graduate with current Colorado licensure
- ACLS certification
Nice To Haves
- 3 Years Pre-op/OR/PACU experience
- CNOR preferred
- Scrub experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Conducts assessments
- Documents care
- Provides emotional support
- Coordinates transfers
- Recovers patients
- Circulates cases
- Assists with processing instruments/equipment in central sterilizing
- Prepares patients for surgery
- Assists other staff members
- Provides patient education
- Adheres to principles of infection control and general policies of the department
- Follows national standards thru IAHCSMM, AORN, ASGE, and ASPAN
