The Registered Nurse is a licensed professional who provides patient care in accordance with the standards, policies, and practices of Enloe Medical Center. The Registered Nurse prioritizes patient needs, coordinates patient care, and collaborates with other members of the patient care team to provide care in accordance with the medical plan of care.
Requirements
- Current licensure with the California Board of Registered Nursing
- Current CPR certification
- Current ACLS certification
- 18 months current/critical care experience
- Basic Arrhythmia or equivalent (within one year of hire)
- Technical competence
- Professional clinical judgment
- Communication skills
- Sensitivity for the patient and family in crisis
- Ability to interact professionally and communicate effectively with physicians, staff, patients and the public
- Ability to organize and prioritize work efficiently
- Ability to work in a demanding environment while remaining calm, efficient and focused
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing or related field
- Current experience in a Perianesthesia setting
- PALS recognition within one year
- Certified Peri-Anesthesia nurse (CPAN) and/or Certified Ambulatory Peri-Anesthesia (CAPA)
Responsibilities
- Provides patient care in accordance with the standards, policies, and practices of Enloe Medical Center.
- Prioritizes patient needs.
- Coordinates patient care.
- Collaborates with other members of the patient care team to provide care in accordance with the medical plan of care.
- Actively participates in continuing education programs.
- Actively participates in unit based QI task forces.
- Actively participates in preceptor programs.
- Performs as a preceptor in the training of students.
- Acts as a department resource.
- Acts as a positive role model.
