About The Position

The Registered Nurse assesses human responses and plans, implements and evaluates nursing care for individuals or families for whom the nurse is responsible. The Registered Nurse is fully responsible for all actions as a licensed nurse and is accountable to patients for the quality of care delivered. The Post-Anesthesia Care Unit at Saint Vincent’s is a newly renovated, 28-bay pre-operative and post-operative care unit that supports 13 operating rooms and 5 procedural areas. This is a fast-paced critical care unit that works collaboratively with surgeons and anesthesia. While Saint Vincent is not a trauma center, nurses provide specialized care for patients undergoing a variety of surgeries including robotics, orthopedics, cardiovascular, peripheral vascular, neurosurgical, and general surgeries. Nurses typically work staggered daylight hours with occasional evenings, plus on call requirements for nights/weekends.
