About The Position

As a Clinical Nurse, you will be a central figure in our patient care team, delivering exceptional, compassionate care that truly makes a difference in our patients' lives. Every day you will collaborate on comprehensive screenings, conduct critical risk assessments, provide vital preventative health education, and expertly coordinate care for diverse patient populations, leveraging technology to streamline processes. You'll ensure patients feel informed and at ease, patiently guiding them through instructions and addressing their concerns. Requirements

  • Must have 1 year recent ICU or ER experience
  • California Registered Nurse license, upon hire
  • Registered Nurse: CA, upon hire
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support, upon hire
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support, within 90 Days

Responsibilities

  • Patient Satisfaction: Is a role model for the Hospital's Patient Satisfaction effort, i.e. demonstrates AIDET principles when interacting with customers, subordinates and colleagues.
  • Patient's condition continuously assessed during stay.
  • Physicians orders taken and reviewed per unit policy.
  • Continuously assesses patient's condition throughout stay with appropriate documentation of vital signs as determined by patient's condition.
  • Writes verbal orders.
  • Documents all medications given to patient during unit stay.
  • Correctly knows how to maintain patient airways on patient.
  • Knows proper use of suction equipment and assists with reintubation.
  • Patient airway is maintained on all patients at all times.
  • Review patient's operative and anesthesia records.
  • Reviews records shortly after patient's arrival.
  • Is alert for any signs of complications or reactions.
  • Recognizes and communicates significant changes in-patients condition to the anesthesiologist promptly.
  • Recognizes problems.
  • Informs anesthesiologist in concise, pertinent report for treatment plan.
  • Carries out treatment plan immediately.
  • Documents all notifications and treatments.
  • Accuracy and completion of documentation is evaluated on a quarterly basis. At a minimum, documentation will include assessment, reassessment, vitals, I&O, height & weight, pain management, restraints & patient/family education.
  • Supervises all treatments and procedures given to patients by other employees.
  • Supervises all treatments.
  • Aware of all possible adverse reactions before treatment is started.
  • Terminates treatment immediately if adverse reaction occurs.
  • Takes appropriate measures to counteract reactions.
