About The Position

Assess and respond to patients' physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs in an outpatient surgical center setting. Utilize professional nursing skills to implement care and communicate assessments to ensure the coordination of patient care.

Requirements

  • RN license
  • Experience in an outpatient surgical center setting
  • Professional nursing skills
  • Knowledge of diagnostic measures
  • Ability to transcribe and implement physician orders
  • Accurate and timely documentation skills
  • Patient and family education skills
  • Supply management skills
  • Ability to assist with housekeeping duties
  • Knowledge of PACU patient care
  • Familiarity with patient transfer procedures
  • Willingness to float as needed
  • Experience in pain management and eye laser procedures
  • Ability to participate in committee meetings

Responsibilities

  • Assess physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs of patients.
  • Utilize nursing skills and judgment to provide care.
  • Communicate patient assessments to appropriate individuals.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of diagnostic measures.
  • Transcribe and implement physician orders accurately.
  • Document in clinical records accurately and timely.
  • Provide instruction and education to patients and families.
  • Manage supplies according to policy to contain costs.
  • Assist with housekeeping duties as needed.
  • Use knowledge to assess and care for PACU patients.
  • Familiarize and assist with patient transfer procedures.
  • Float as needed to maintain communication and assist staff.
  • Work in pain management and eye laser procedure rooms.
  • Participate in committee meetings and seek guidance as needed.
