About The Position

As an RN in the Pre-Anesthesia Clinic (LPAC), you will play an important role in preparing patients for upcoming procedures and helping ensure they are ready for a safe and successful experience. This role combines clinical assessment, patient education, care coordination, and critical thinking. You will work closely with patients, providers, and other members of the healthcare team to identify potential concerns, review medications and treatment plans, provide education, and coordinate care before a patient's procedure. If you are an experienced RN who enjoys building relationships with patients, working collaboratively, and using your clinical knowledge to help patients navigate their care, this could be a great opportunity for you.

Requirements

  • Current Montana RN license or a multi-state compact RN license with authorization to practice nursing in Montana.
  • Current Healthcare Provider CPR certification.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, manage details, and work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Strong critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, providers, and colleagues.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with professionalism, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Computer proficiency, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn additional software and clinical systems as needed.
  • ACLS and PALS certification may be required based on department needs and, when applicable, must be successfully obtained within six (6) months of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • 2+ years of nursing experience.

Responsibilities

  • Complete comprehensive patient assessments using available clinical information and the patient's individual needs and concerns.
  • Develop and update individualized plans of care throughout the patient visit.
  • Identify potential safety concerns and help ensure patients are appropriately prepared for their procedure.
  • Independently review medication lists and provide medication and treatment education as directed by the physician or advanced practice provider.
  • Educate patients and help them understand what to expect before their procedure.
  • Coordinate with providers and other members of the healthcare team to support continuity of care.
  • Administer medications according to provider orders and established standards.
  • Follow department standards of care while individualizing care to meet each patient's needs.
  • Participate in education and competency validation for clinical staff.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, sound clinical judgment, and a commitment to high-quality patient care.
