About The Position

Located on the fourth floor of the Tower at Freeman Hospital West, this is a 29-bed unit providing post-operative care to adult patients following Orthopedic trauma, head injury, and scheduled joint or spine surgery. We provide a patient-centered approach to helping patients return to their best by coordinating efforts with our therapy team to help ensure a successful recovery. Our focus is on building a team-centered work environment where compassion is key, patient safety is paramount, and you will have the ability to make a difference in the lives of your patients and their families.

Requirements

• Current Missouri Registered Nurse License Or Current Registered Nurse License From A Compact State. If A Compact License Is Held, It Must Be In The Nurse's State Of Residence.
• If No Experience As An RN Or LPN In A Hospital Setting Or It Has Been More Than 5 Years Since Last Worked In A Hospital Setting, Nurses Must Successfully Pass Patient Care Orientation (PCO) Within 30 Days.
• AHA BLS For Healthcare Providers Within 60 Days.
• NIH Stroke Scale Certification Within 365 Days.
• RN Competency Day Annually By Transcript Due Date.

Nice To Haves

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification Preferred.
• ASLS Preferred, But Not Required.

Responsibilities

• In conjunction with the Medical Plan of Care, independently performs systematic and continuous assessment of the physical, emotional, clinical, and psychosocial needs of assigned patients and families; plans and implements appropriate interventions; and evaluates effectiveness and adjusts plan as indicated in a timely manner in the provision of safe and effective care.
