Medina Hospital’s 2 East is a 15-bed nursing unit that provides professional nursing care to post-surgical orthopaedic and spine patients. Along with patients undergoing total joint replacement, we manage care of patients with revisions of total joint replacement, lumbar and/or cervical decompressions, fusions and/or laminectomies. 2 East cares for stable telemetry patients requiring ongoing cardiac monitoring. Most patients are discharged to rehabilitation facilities or home with ongoing home health care services within 2-4 days after surgery. As an RN on this team, you will deliver exceptional care, throughout the patient care journey. In this role, you will interact directly with patients and their families, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diplonma, ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • One year of current acute care RN experience in a hospital setting OR licensed military RN experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
  • Educate patients and their families.
