The role will function in both scrub and circulating roles. Shifts involve on-call, and weekend/holiday rotation. When on call, the response time is 45 minutes. Shifts available - Days and afternoons. The role involves viewing patients holistically, considering physical, psychosocial, emotional, age-specific, cultural, and spiritual factors. It requires demonstrating appropriate assessment skills for identified patient populations and critical thinking skills by gathering and analyzing patient information, then responding to a patient situation. The nurse will develop, implement, evaluate, and revise an individualized plan of care using evidenced-based interventions and standards of care, identifying needs and planning for care across the continuum considering patient and family preferences. Identifying patient and family education needs, developing and implementing teaching plans based on evidence-based practice, and utilizing teach-back methodology are key. The role also involves identifying necessary resources for discharge readiness and developing a plan in collaboration with other disciplines. Creating an environment that promotes a positive patient experience and communicating accurate, timely, concise, and thorough information (including EMR documentation) is essential. Effectively communicating patient status, priority goals, and interventions to colleagues and other disciplines during consultation, rounds, and handoffs is also required. Maintaining good rapport and cooperative relationships, approaching conflict constructively, and participating in problem resolution are important aspects of the role.
