About The Position

Devereux Massachusetts and Rhode Island is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join their team in Rutland, MA. This role involves making a difference in the lives of children in need within a residential setting. The nurse will play an integral role in admission assessments, assessing individuals, collecting and documenting health status and medical history, administering medications, and assisting with treatment plans. Strong communication skills are essential for collaborating with the treatment team, including psychiatrists, external agencies, and guardians. Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Must be a current Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse in the State of Massachusetts.
  • Must be able to attend a 2-week paid orientation, Monday to Friday, 8AM to 4PM, in Rutland, MA.
  • Devereux has a zero-tolerance policy for abuse and maintains policies and procedures to systematically reduce the risk of abuse to occur in our organization.
  • Devereux fosters a culture of reporting abuse, and will cooperate with the authorities to the fullest extent possible.

Responsibilities

  • Play an integral role in admission assessments.
  • Assess individuals and collect/document their current health status and medical history.
  • Administer medications.
  • Assist with initial treatment plans and the treatment planning process.
  • Communicate information related to the individual's medical care and behavior with the treatment team, including the psychiatrist.
  • Be responsible for oversight of an assigned caseload of individuals residing in group homes.
  • Work collaboratively with team members, external agencies, and/or guardians.
