As a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room at Cleveland Clinic Weston, you will circulate a wide variety of complex surgical cases within the 18-suite Operating Room Department, including organ transplants, orthopedic and neurosurgical procedures, while following established standards, department guidelines, and hospital policies and procedures. This role offers the opportunity to receive training as a scrub nurse. In this role, you will use strong assessment and critical thinking skills to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for each patient. Throughout the patient care journey, you will deliver exceptional nursing care while interacting directly with patients and their families, enhancing their experience and providing healthcare education and support as needed.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or ALS American Red Cross certification upon hire or within first year of hire
  • Periop 101 or validated OJT for the Operating room setting
  • One year of current acute care RN experience OR licensed military RN experience

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • One year of experience in OR

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
  • Educate patients and their families.
