About The Position

The Operating Room RN at Piedmont Eastside provides comprehensive nursing care to patients across all life stages, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. This role operates within the organization's policies and procedures, focusing on professional growth and accountability. The staff nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice and coordinating the activities of assigned staff to ensure high-quality nursing care. The department offers sophisticated outpatient and inpatient surgical services, including robotic surgery, endovascular hybrid suites, comprehensive endoscopy, high-volume endovascular surgery, and advanced minimally invasive neurosurgery.

Requirements

Graduate of a nursing program
New Graduates of a nursing program eligible
Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License.
BLS certification required.

Nice To Haves

Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting Preferred.

Responsibilities

Performs patient assessments, including collecting data on physical, psychosocial, and health history.
Evaluates the developmental age of the patient when performing assessments, treatments, and patient/family education.
Organizes patient data to formulate a plan of care, identifies needed information, and makes care decisions based on identified needs and expected patient outcomes.
Carries out the plan of care to achieve desired patient outcomes.
Provides patient care specific to the setting, identified needs, and plan, ensuring appropriateness to the severity of the condition.
Oversees activities of ancillary and support team members.
Identifies teaching opportunities and provides necessary resources for patient educational goals.
Communicates issues/concerns to the Charge Nurse, Clinical Manager, and/or physician as appropriate.
Documents patient care and concerns in the patient record.
