About The Position

As a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room at St. Anthony Hospital, you will provide direct patient advocacy and clinical support across a high-volume surgical department. The facility manages approximately 900-950 cases per month across a wide range of specialties. Daily duties include performing circulating functions, providing intraoperative support such as managing sterile instruments and supplies, facilitating room turnovers, and restocking for subsequent procedures. St. Anthony Hospital is a Level I Trauma Center located in Lakewood, Colorado, providing a full range of medical specialties and health care services. The hospital has achieved Magnet designation and received numerous other awards and accreditations. This role is for a Weekend Option RN, requiring a commitment to working weekend shifts and providing patient care through the nursing process, adhering to standards and organizational values.

Requirements

Associates Degree in Nursing or by endorsement.
One (1) year experience.
Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty.
RN License; Current state nursing licenses or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact.
Strong clinical assessment skills.
Strong communication skills.
Adaptability for weekend duties.
Commitment to patient safety and adherence to nursing standards.

Six month commitment to working weekend schedule.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
Previous OR experience in a hospital setting highly preferred

Responsibilities

Facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with the healthcare team and patients/families to identify and meet their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs during weekend shifts.
Promoting the optimal health, well-being, and safety of patients through the nursing process, adhering to patient care standards, guidelines, and the State Nurse Practice Act.
Demonstrating personal accountability for relationship-based care and organizational values.
Assessing patient’s physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interview, review of medical records & clinical data.
Evaluating patient’s response and intervening to ensure optimal patient outcome.
Developing and implementing patient plan of care and observing outcomes in accordance with nursing standards and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
Demonstrating competency in a variety of therapeutic/diagnostic interventions including but not limited to IVs, incision/wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collections.
Promoting, advocating, and collaborating to protect the health and safety and rights of each patient.
Providing patient/family education through assessment of patient/family learning readiness, needs, and ability.
Recognizing the patient or designee as a full partner in providing compassionate and coordinated care based on respect for the patient’s preferences, values, and needs.
Performing circulating functions.
Providing intraoperative support such as managing sterile instruments and supplies.
Facilitating room turnovers.
Restocking for subsequent procedures.
