Registered Nurse OR Coordinator
About The Position
IU Health Fishers is seeking an experienced RN Operating Room Coordinator to provide clinical leadership and support across General Surgery, Urology, and Plastic Surgery. The role combines hands-on patient care with service line coordination, staff development, and operational leadership within an expanding surgical program. As a service line expert, the coordinator collaborates with surgeons, staff, vendors, and leadership to support patient outcomes, program growth, education, and process improvement. The position may involve scrubbing and/or circulating surgical cases as needed.
Requirements
- Associate of Nursing (ASN).
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
- Graduation from a nationally accredited nursing program.
- Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
- Previous leadership, charge nurse, or coordinator experience.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Nursing (BSN).
- Previous Operating Room experience.
- Previous circulating experience.
- Experience in General Surgery, Urology, or Plastic Surgery.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate clinical operations for assigned surgical service lines.
- Serve as a clinical resource and subject matter expert for staff and providers.
- Maintain surgeon preference cards and support equipment and supply management.
- Collaborate with surgeons, vendors, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Assist with orientation, education, and ongoing competency development of staff.
- Lead quality improvement and service line initiatives.
- Scrub and/or circulate surgical cases as needed.
