About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Outpatient Infusion Oncology Nurse for an outpatient clinic located in South Dakota. The facility features 32 infusion chairs and provides care to patients with various types of cancer.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1.5 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in Outpatient Infusion Oncology.
- Current experience in oncology is required. BMT or highly specialized oncology experience will not be considered a suitable match.
- Completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing.
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in South Dakota.
- 1+ year of EPIC Ambulatory experience is essential.
- ONS Chemotherapy certification required.
Nice To Haves
- OCN certification is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Administering various chemotherapy infusion treatments.
- Providing patient education on chemotherapy and home care precautions.
- Managing symptoms and side effects for patients undergoing active treatment.
- Daily patient load of 5-8 patients, with a maximum of 3-4 at a time.
- Performing chart checks, vital signs, weight assessments, and medication reconciliation.
- Self-assigning patients to ensure equitable workload distribution.
- Communicating effectively with the healthcare team and documenting patient information accurately.
