About The Position

This position is for an Oncology Infusion Nurse at the Lemmen-Holten Cancer Pavilion. This is a fast-paced, high-volume infusion center where we provide various cancer treatments and supportive care for individuals with a malignant diagnosis. We treat cancer using the latest technologies and treatments including gene sequencing of tumors, targeted therapy and advanced oncology surgery techniques. We use a team approach to care, bringing together different areas of expertise that specialize in any type of cancer.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree Nursing
• Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program
• Registered Nurse (RN) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required or Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 90 Days required
• Oncology Nursing Society - ONCC Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy certificate course completion required for RNs working in departments where chemotherapy/immunotherapy is administered. Radiation Therapy certificate course is required for RNs working in radiation departments. 1 Year required

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s Degree Nursing
• Oncology Certified Nurse - ONCC Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation OCN Certification (or other applicable Oncology specialty/leadership certification) preferred
• Oncology experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan.
• Demonstrates competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA. This includes ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization and environmental health.
• Strives to achieve optimal outcomes.
