RN Observation Unit Weekend Only Nightshift
About The Position
Seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department Observation Unit at Baptist Health Floyd. This is a part-time position (24 hours weekly) with a focus on weekend-only work (WOW), offering premium pay. The unit has 29 beds and is affiliated with the Emergency Department, observing patients expected to be hospitalized for less than 24 hours. Nurses on this unit care for a variety of patients, including those with chest pain, cardiac arrhythmias, post-cardiac catheterizations, laparoscopic cholecystectomies, UTIs, and DVTs. A provider is available on the unit from 7 AM to 5 PM daily to offer support and high-level care. New graduate RNs are welcome. This role is eligible for a sign-on bonus for experienced external applicants.
Requirements
- Current Indiana or compact state RN license required.
- BLS for healthcare provider required.
- ACLS for Healthcare provider required (obtained within 12 months of hire).
Responsibilities
- Responsible and accountable for direct comprehensive nursing care for the patient from admission to discharge.
- Function as an on-shift team member providing direct patient care to meet the needs of patients, families, and co-workers.
