About The Position

Ascension St. Vincent's Riverside Hospital is seeking an experienced RN Observation Unit Manager to oversee patient care delivery within the unit. This role ensures high-quality standards, compliance with healthcare regulations, and adherence to evidence-based nursing practices. The manager will be responsible for recruiting, mentoring, and evaluating nursing staff, fostering a collaborative work environment, and managing shift scheduling for adequate unit coverage. Additionally, the position involves managing the unit's operational budget, optimizing the allocation of medical supplies and equipment, and monitoring productivity metrics to control costs. The manager will also act as a liaison between patients, families, physicians, and administrative teams to resolve grievances and coordinate seamless, interdisciplinary care. A key aspect of the role is leading unit-based quality improvement initiatives, analyzing patient outcomes and safety data to implement protocols that reduce medical errors and improve patient satisfaction.

Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or jobtransfer date.
  • Required professional licensure/certification AND 3 years of experience and 1 year of cumulative leadership experience required.
