About The Position

CHI Williston Health, now part of CommonSpirit Health, is a Critical Access Hospital where you will be exposed to various departments including the emergency department, acute care (Med/Surg), swing bed, surgery, and outpatient treatment. As an OB Nurse at CHI St. Alexius Health Williston, you will guide patients through labor and childbirth, prioritizing the safety and well-being of both mother and baby with kindness and compassion. Your responsibilities will include triaging patients, performing screening exams, guiding patients through inductions and deliveries, monitoring maternal dilation, tracking fetal heart rate, and providing support to patients and their loved ones. This role requires sensitivity to diverse circumstances, the ability to remain calm in emergencies, and the capacity to quickly and accurately assess patient needs. You will continuously monitor antepartal, intrapartal, and postpartal patients for risk factors and progress, detect changes, and take necessary actions. You will also respond to life-saving situations, set priorities for patient care, collaborate with providers, administer medications and IV therapy, and provide patient and family education.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing
  • Licensed by the State of North Dakota Board of Nursing (RN)
  • American Heart Association Certification for Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Completed within 6 month of start

Responsibilities

  • Assesses antepartal, intrapartal, and postpartal patients for risk factors, normal progress, symptoms of problems, and continuously monitor; detect changes in symptoms, health or pain, and take action as necessary; and quickly and accurately assess patient care needs
  • Responds to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol
  • Sets priorities in plan of care based on assessed needs and anticipates personnel, supplies, and equipment required to care for patients based on assessed needs
  • Works collaboratively with provider to provide exceptional care
  • Administers medications, IV therapy, and treatments in compliance with policies and procedures
  • Provides patient and family education
